2007

Statewide Strategic Initiative Hubs (HUBS) grant for $121,000.

    Cerritos College CACT HUB will serve the overall CACT Initiative's goals and objectives by specializing in industry-recognized certification. To develop, pilot, evaluate and disseminate relevant strategic partnerships with industry recognized certification programs to help address the growing skills gap in industry today.

 

2007

SB70 Career Exploration and Development for 7th and 8th Graders for $157,000.

    To develop, improve, and expand programs that will provide opportunities for 7th and 8th grade students’ career exploration related to career and technical education programs.

 

2007

SB70 Quick Start Partnerships in Applied Competitive Technologies in Manufacturing for $450,000.

    To enhance linkages and Career Technical Education (CTE) pathways between high schools and community colleges in order to expand and develop new CTE programs and opportunities for students in secondary schools.

 

2007

Southeast Area Social Services Funding Authority (SASSFA) was awarded an ETP grant. Cerritos College was chosen as SASSFA training partner.

    To deliver a Machine Tool Technology 200 hour training for displaced workers.

 

2006

Industry Driven Regional Collaborative Grant for $338,000.

    Assist automotive aftermarket industry with education and training.

 

2006

Department of Labor WIRED grant was awarded to California Space Authority for $5 million. Cerritos College is a partner.

    Assist the Aerospace Industry in developing their workforce with training and education.

 

2006

National Science Foundation grant awarded to Edmonds Community College for $810,000. Cerritos is a partner.

    Funds will be used to develop curriculum to create an advanced manufacturing technology certificate program.

 

2006

SB70 grant awarded to North Orange County Community College District for $440,000. Cerritos College is a partner.

    Establish career paths from the high schools to community college technical programs.

 

2005

National Science Foundation grant awarded to Edmonds Community College for $1.2 million. Cerritos College is a partner.

    The grant will establish a Material Science Resources Center to Develop and disseminate curriculum in materials technology.

 

2004

Job Development Incentive Training Fund was awarded to North Orange County Community College District - CACT for $600.000. Cerritos College is a partner.

    Recruit high school students to go into manufacturing careers.

 

2003

Center for Applied Competitive grant awarded to Cerritos College for
$178,000 per year for 5 years.

    Assist manufacturers with training, technical assistance and technology transfer.

increasing over 15% in 2004-2005 to 2005-2006, received from the Economic Workforce Development.
